Supply shortage forces Ribstone Creek to withdraw from Edmonton International Beerfest

EDGERTON, April 26, 2012 — The brewing business is fraught with challenges and the Ribstone Creek Brewery (RCB) is working to clear yet another hurdle in keeping up with an unforeseen demand for it's product.

Due to a a recent shortage of Ribstone Creek Lager, the RCB founders have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the Edmonton International Beerfest, happening April 27th and 28th at the Shaw Conference Centre.

RCB president Don Paré said production limitations have required the fledgling brewery's founders to make some tough decisions about how they plan to distribute their beer in the near future.

“We offer our sincerest apologies to the good folks at the Edmonton International Beer Show and all those who have been affected by this supply issue and we appreciate those who've stood by us in the early stages of our business,” said Paré.

The RCB founders say they will have enough beer in place to take part in the Calgary International Beerfest, happening May 4th and 5th at the BMO Centre.

Paré also stated that the RCB facility in Edgerton, AB is in the midst of a large-scale renovation, which is expected to be completed early this summer. When complete, the Edgerton facility will allow for a drastic increase in production capabilities.
