It's still early, but great beer is becoming one of our traditions

LONE BISON IPA
Pours a light hazy orange, this 6.5% ABV unfiltered IPA comes in with citrus and pine notes, blended with a pronounced hoppy flavour that finishes with a hint a spice. With a floral hop aroma and 70 IBU, Lone Bison is an exceptional brew for hopheads and craft beer fans alike.

RIBSTONE CREEK LAGER
A 5% ABV premium lager that combines an easy-drinking finish with hand-crafted quality. It pours pale gold with bright, sparkling clarity and a soft blanket of white head. The aroma offers delicate, grainy malt sweetness supplemented by a light grassiness and a hint of floral hop.

RANGELAND PALE ALE
A well-rounded Pale Ale (4.5% ABV./IBU rating 30) balanced with just the right amount of hops and malt. Dark golden in colour, Cascade hops give citrus and floral aroma, while the malt gives notes of caramel and toffee. Rangeland Pale Ale finishes off light and smooth for a truly sessionable craft brew.

Ribstone awards:
2012 Calgary Craft Beer Show – Category: Domestic Lager - Silver Medal winner
2014 Calgary Craft Beer Show – Category: Light Lager - Gold Medal winner

Come freeze your cask off!

Come in from the cold!

Edmonton Beer Geeks Anonymous welcomes you to another event featuring the always unique and special cask conditioned beers from Alberta craft brewers.

February in Edmonton is typically frigid and miserable. We hope to bring some light and warmth to the month with the introduction of a smaller, more focused event.

When: Saturday, February 21 from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Where: Strathcona Community League Hall
(10139 87 Ave)

If you have previously attended our iterations of our EBGA Real Ale Festival, then you will have a good idea of what we are trying to do.  This time, however, we have posed a challenge to the brewers who will be creating the cask conditioned beers.  Given the propensity to gravitate to darker styles, in part to complement the few short hours of sunlight we experience in Edmonton during th winter months, and in part because they can help fight off the cold, the brewers have been challenged to create beers that also gravitate to the darker end of the spectrum.

At this point, we can only specuate as to the style of beers they will aim for..... Porter? Stout? Olde Ale? Dark Belgian Strong? Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale?... who knows!

In addtion to being the first winter cask conditioned ale festival put on by the EBGA, we are also proud to announce a physical embodiment of the partnership that we are developing with the Alberta Small Brewers Association.  This particular embodiment happens to take the form of a special (limited) edition growler.  The growlers are co-funded by the EBGA and ASBA, and will be a take-home gift for the patrons of Freeze Your Cask Off!*

In line with all EBGA events, we are attempting to make this event both accessible and educational for all those that wish to attend.  Patrons will likely have the opportunity to interact with many of the brewers that are creating the casks for the event.
