EDGERTON, AB — As one of Alberta’s newest beermakers, the founders of the Ribstone Creek Brewery (RCB) have had plenty of curious beer fans asking where they can get a taste.
This week, the RCB crew is pleased to announce that Ribstone Creek Lager is now on tap at Sherlock Holmes Pub, located on Rice Howard Way in downtown Edmonton. The new RCB beer tap was unveiled at Sherlock’s on Friday, Feb. 17 and made an instant impression with the popular pub’s clientele.
“At Sherlock’s we see the excitement around something new and local to try and we were glad to see nobody disappointed by the Ribstone Creek Lager,” said Jon Sand, General Manager for the Sherlock Holmes Pub. “With 23 beers on tap, it’s often tough to stand out and take a piece of the pie, but Ribstone managed to outsell some very well-known, very popular brands. Microbrews are a growing niche in the beer world and we’re happy to offer Ribstone Creek to fill that part of the market.”
After months of hard work in getting the Ribstone Creek Brewery off the ground, RCB co-founder Don Paré said he was thrilled to see so many Sherlock’s patrons enjoying the beer.
“It’s a great feeling to see someone who may have never heard of our little brewery walk up and ask for a Ribstone Creek Lager, “ said Paré. “My fellow brewery founders were pleased and proud when Sherlock Holmes Pub agreed to put our beer on tap. They are a great bunch and we look forward to selling a lot of beer together.”
